Peace Walk
Honduras belongs to the most dangerous countries around the globe, thereafter do we gratefully participate on peace walks to shout out our will after a safer world for all.
The walk took us about half an hour, afterwards did we enjoy some performances, on the main square right in front of the cathedral, which were all based around worldwide peace.

September: month of celebrations
10th of September is the broadly celebrated “dia del niño”, which means the children’s day. At school, religion class at home, basically everywhere has been celebrated the children’s day. We were lucky enough to welcome many different groups in our home
which wanted to celebrate with us, they brought along cakes, piñatas, games and many presents. The main attraction was a clown, he created objects with colorful balloons and smiley children faces were guaranteed.

Olympc Games organized by CEPUDO
CEPUDO (Capacitación, Educación, Producción, Unificación, Desarollo, Organización), an organization which supports us monthly with produces as well as detergents and consumables. CEPUDO organizes on an early basis some gatherings between the different organizations they are supporting. This year did 28 children homes face the challenges of the Olympic games. All they long did the children participate in different games. A special
thought was directed to sustainability which required all participants to show up in recyclable tricots „vestido de reciclaje“. Our represent was Reyna, she was dressed in fashionable paper sportswear. Made by our educator Karin which showed some serious talent. The shoes have been pimped by some old CD-pieces, the earrings were made out of can opener pieces and the bracelet was crafted with buttons. Unfortunately, did she not win with her sustainable costume but she left a lasting impression and earned a lot of compliments. Once more was it touching to see how our children are very caring towards others and have no difficulties to make friends among other children. Santos was gone for most of the time, as he returned and I asked him with whom he was playing all day long he said that he was playing with his new friend and that they got a long very well and had a lot of fun. When I asked him about his new friend’s name hecouldn’t respond, he only mentioned that he called him my friend.

Zoo
For the first time did we visit the zoo with all the children. We had to drive about 1.5 hours to reach this magic place. The children were amazed and intrigued by the animals, especially by the fact that the animals were right in front of them - than most of the species were only known by books or tv. They got to see lions, jaguars, pumas, tigers,
rhinos, kangaroos, crocodiles, monkeys, ostriches and also a giraffe which they were even allowed to pat. All morning were small and tall occupied with observing, discovering and learning heaps of new and astonishing things. The afternoon was reserved for some proper
fun, than 3 pools belong to the zoo and as everyone knows do our children love the refreshing wet. The hours passed by way too quickly with all the fun we had in the water.
As we wanted to head home, some of the children discovered a pirate play ground. We couldn’t resist and postponed our drive back home for a little while. It was an educational day filled with lasting impressions and happy laughter.

Home
We try to keep changing and improving our surrounding of the home. This time around did we install a new fence by the Sala Cuna which got nicely painted, all the trails have been lined with bricks and around the soccer field did we plant various plants to make it look less bleak.
