Safety
To ensure enough safety for our inhabitants we decided to increase the overall height of the wall surrounding our lot and provided it with a barbed wire fence. This adjustment has another advantage and made our boys very happy. Even though our soccer field is surrounded with a net to catch the balls, some still find their way out of our lot into the neighbourhood where the balls stay hidden forever. That means that the higher wall increases our safety and decimates at the same time the loss of balls. But at the end we count on our guardian angels which support us on all our walks of live.

Bakery
Our youth care worker Karin bakes twice a week with the older girls. They provide us with a lot of delicious baking. For breakfast there's bread, as a snack chocolate croissants, buns, muffins, etc. and for lunch or dinner chicken tacos, chicken potpie, pizza and many other goodies. Slowly our girls have grown into proper bakers and cooks and they also have developed great joy and fun in this activity.

Holiday Festival
The city of San Pedro Sula has organized for the first time the Holiday Festival. To do so, a road has been blocked, to create and guarantee a safe and friendly ambience.
The road was lined with various stalls and attractions, from jewellery and artists, concerts, dance presentations to food stands with typical foods. The traditional "crazy corn cobs" won over our children and therefore in great demand. Our children were asked to leave their foot print on an oversized Street Poster as a souvenir. They labelled their marks clearly with "yo quiero ser ..." and were filled with pried.

David Böhler
David Boehler, the godfather of 18 of our children, visited us for the third time. In 2012, he was 4 months our guest and this year, he spent two weeks with us. Especially for our older boys he is a great role model. He trained almost every day with them, organized challenging course and accompanied them in discovering their own physical limits. Obviously, our guys also try to achieve toned upper bodies with well-defined muscles, therefore did they gladly admitted to the challenges. In addition, he has actively helped to install the barbed wire and he also looked after the babies. He was surprised how easy it was to conquer their hearts and baby Ricardo bonded right away with his new buddy.

Presents
Our children are very happy about their presents sent by the godparents, even one month after the "Children's Day". Various godparents, Swiss families and individuals have donated chocolate, clothes, shoes, school supplies and much more. Among other things, we also received several T-shirts from Glarussell, which means that by now the Swiss region of Glarus is represented in Honduras. Our children wear with pride "Glarnerin with body and soul" and "Glarnerland makes you beautiful" and it doubtlessly conjures us a smirking smile on our faces.

On the 10th of October, Rina and Corsin Taisch, long time "yo quiero ser ..."-friends, got married. As a wedding gift they wanted a donation for our foundation. We all were very touched by this gesture and the children wanted to personally thank the newlyweds. Therefore did we organise a live stream to Engadin and the guests had the pleasure to see the dance choreography, which the children organised especially for Rina and Corsin. After the performance, all the children let a heart balloon rise in the sky with a personal wish for the newlyweds attached.

Caminando con amor
1,000 children from 26 different children's homes received this year again the invitation from the orphanage Emanuel to participate at the infamous day called "run with love". We as the children's home "yo quiero ser ..." were invited as well and the children were allowed to spend exciting hours in great company. The Pepsi has taken care of all the logistics and show, so each orphanage had a tent and was equipped with their personal team. In addition to hot dogs and drinks, there was plenty of cotton candy and popcorn and thanks to the face paint and the air-towers, the children were busy and amused.
Highlight of this festival is always the handing over of Toms Shoes. The American company promotes themselves with the motto "Buy One, Give One" and it means that each pair sold in the western world results in one pair given away to children living in poverty.
Besides all these activities it is also worth mentioning that our children have made new friends at this big gathering. Our little two-year-old David has from the beginning on put his eye on someone who he won over as a friend and put him in charge as his personal babysitter.
