School Year Ending
Talent Show
Our secondary school students Deyvin and Yulissa were allowed to participate at a talent night at the end of the school year. Both practiced playing the guitar diligently during the entire school year and could perform on stage with several songs. They were very nervous; however, they managed to perform the songs flawlessly.

Graduation Ceremony
Alden, Geovanni, Anahy and Wendy were honored to receive the pre-school diploma with great joy. Esteban and Fernando, too, received their primary school diploma of the 6th grade. They are the first children who are with us since the first grade and it pleased us much that they now can take the second step in their school career.
It was a hard school year for all our students, but all the efforts have paid off, as all have passed the school year with good, very good and excellent grades. Maria even received a mark of 5.9 and six other students (Luz Marina, Daniel, Enrique, Kimberly, Jessica und Gabi) a mark of more than 5.5
As quality education is important to us, we are proud of the result, which has come about through daily hard work and diligence.

Caminando con amor
This year the company Tom's Shoes has organized a meeting for different children's homes again. The day was full of surprises; each child received a pair of Tom's shoes and various dance competitions took place. As always, our Carlos has also participated and he presented a good dance show.
Our children were allowed to take pictures with a Honduran band and were driven back home with new shoes, happy faces and great memories.

Santa Rosa de Copán
As a reward for the good grades in school, we drove to Santa Rosa de Copan in the holidays. For all of us this is a wonderful holiday paradise. Everyone feels free there and we enjoy the change of air and place.
As usual, we went for a morning walk every day, the kids enjoyed the pool, walked around in the city center and played card games and other exciting games for hours, so the week went by in a flash.
For security reasons, we spent the day of the presidential elections in the coffee plantation, too, but fortunately they were conducted in a peaceful manner.

Christmas Mail
As a thank you to all our generous donors and wonderful godfathers and godmothers, the kids have crafted Christmas cards and a little thank you in the form of wire stars for hours. The children have done this with lots of love and devotion, because all of them are aware that they have been offered a new life here and they want to express their gratitude.
With the following Advent story we want to show you that poverty and wealth are always subjective and we wish you a merry, light-filled and star happy Christmas time.

Starry Sky
One day a man took his son into a slum to show him how poor people live. Father and son spent a day and a night with a very poor family.

When they returned, the father asked his son, "How was this trip?"
"Very interesting," replied the son. "And have you seen how poor people can be?"
"Oh yes dad, I saw that."

"So what have you learned?" asked the father. And the son replied: "I have seen that we have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a lake which never ends. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have beautiful lamps in our garden and they have the stars."

The son added: "Father, thank you for showing me how poor we are."
