Finishing and furbishing the new storey
While the construction of the new storey was completed in no time, the painting and furbishing took a bit longer than anticipated. Furthermore, was the electrical installation quite time consuming but end of March the first storey was ready to move in, kids friendly decorated and furbished as desired. The children who had the pleasure to move in were utterly excited about their new rooms and happy that the time of improvisation was finally over because the smallest girls slept in the dining hall of the Sala Cuna, the older girls in the living area of the staff house and the youngest boys had to find some space between the big boys. There was chaos everywhere because nobody felt at home and therefore neither responsible to keep it tidy. Thanks god, almost everything is finished only the wooden flooring of the second floor has to be pre-treated and painted before the rest can move in. Our young girls have to be patient for another week or two but now they know it is definitely worth it.

Birthday kids
This month eight of our children celebrated their birthdays and for Jessica March 20 was an unique day. It was her fifteenth birthday and in Honduras it is the most important birthday in a girls life because it symbolises the transition from a girl to a young women. At church a special mess was held to introduce and welcome her into the church congregation. Normally the girls are dressed in princess gowns, we couldn’t live up to this dream but she was nonetheless beautifully dresses and we had a lovely festive dinner afterwards. She was allowed to invite all her friends and along with all the children from “yo quiero ser...”. No fiesta without a Piñata. Even though everybody was overeaten, the beating of the Piñata was executed wholeheartedly and with plenty of force that no single candy stayed save around the happy crowed of children.

Presents
Thanks to the generosity of the many godparents and all the other kind hearted people in Switzerland, we receive throughout the year many parcels. The children can hardly wait until they are allowed to open the gifts and when they see all the beautiful things they receive they can not hide their joy and gratefulness. It is quite touching to see it because most of this children grew up not even imagining the possibility of receiving anything just close to that. This month we received different things which were meant fort he children , for example a huge box filled with school material, one with chocolate, toys and also toiletry articles. Every time I feel a deep bond to my homeland in my heart when I see all those Swiss things and feel utter appreciation for all the people caring for our project and knowing what it means to the children here in “yo quiero ser...”. A very big thank you! For the children, their godparents have a very special meaning, than they know, despite the geographical distance there is someone who loves them, cares about their wellbeing and wishes only for their best. They are also aware, that only thanks to their godparents generosity they can enjoy good education and that is often more motivation to them than anybody could imagine. All our belove godparents became part of our “yo quiero ser....”-family.

San Ignacio
A Honduran friend invited us to the ecological park of San Ignacio. The drive there didn’t turn out as wished then we were faced twice with a flat tire. Thanks to our innovative Honduran men we managed nonetheless to arrive safe and sound at the park. The park counts 300 hectare of land, has different swimming pools, is embedded in middle of green vegetation and enjoys direct access to the sea. Hidden in this wild vegetation we found even a zoo. The jaguars, boa snake and the rhino fascinated the children the most. The children enjoyed the beautiful swimming complexes very much because it had different age appropriate options. For the smallest ones it had a cute butterfly slide and for the big ones, the real bold ones, it had a huge slide with some overhanging sequences. It asked for a lot of overcoming but funny enough, some thought afterwards that’s just peanuts.
