Medical Brigade

This month, 3 pediatricians and 3 nurses visited us to medically examine all our children and adolescents and to do a general check-up.

They were impressed that everyone is in such good health. We are convinced, that this is due to our balanced daily diet (3 main meals and 2 snacks) and the two-yearly deworming treatments.

Our little Deysi was diagnosed with "frenulum linguae", a shortening of the so-called tongue ribbon. Two weeks later she underwent already an surgery on an outpatient basis by an experiences surgeon. This should now exclude that Deysi couldn’t develop her speaking properly.

Carolina Cross Connection

As in June, the organization Carolina Cross Connection visited us again in July for 16 days. They played with the children, talked to them and interacted despite the language barrier. Body language came in handy. Our kids do not speak yet very well English and the Americans do not speak Spanish that well.

Nonetheless, they danced with our children and were surprised how well all the Hondurans can dance and that even the smallest have the hip swing imbedded in their DNA.

This year, the three-day summer camp took place again. Our 13 oldest children were allowed to participate.

To close up the fantastic time we had together, they organized a fabulous event called "Un Dia". 6 children's homes of San Pedro were invited to participate and all of our children had the possibility to participate. For everyone this was a really special day. Very fine food was served, they played in groups, different activities were set up, such as painting, singing and praying.

It is amazing how enthusiastic and devoted the Americans are towards us. In the meantime, they have become true friends to us. We are very blessed to have them in our lives.

Scout

The scout group of San Pedro Sula participated in a milk marathon and then donated the milk to various organizations. It is a privilege that we too were among the chosen ones. We received 30 liters of delicious and nutrious milk.

The scout group visited us personally and spent a morning with our children. Of course, they talked about their activities. The children explained to them, that during their vacations in Santa Rosa they are real scouts too...

Continuing Education Academy in Santa Rosa de Copán

Since the opening of our ACEP Academy (Academia de Excelencia Profesional), 16 RCP 2-day courses have taken place over the weekends, with a total of 342 participants. Our computer class is attended by 2 primary schools (25 students each) twice a week.

From the beginning of autumn, 9 primary schools (with a total of 180 students) will attend computer classes. The grade the students obtain in our classes is officially recognized by the Ministry of Education as a grade in their report cards.
