Festivities at the schools
Some of our turtles took on a day trip to the kindergarten. The adventure of our reptiles was based on the idea on how to present the state of Atlantida. As we know are our children very imaginative and innovative, starting at the earliest age. When they were faced with the challenge on how to present the state they just learned about, they wanted to create an adventure. We were very supportive and liked the idea of bringing the turtles to the class room. What else could have represented Atlantida better? The children were very excited and it ended up being a huge attraction for the whole school.
Many wonderful presentation about the different states were showcased, along with them was traditional food served from the different areas and typical dances were presented by the students. The kindergarten girls were all dressed in folk costumes and the boys in “Garifunas”. Those garments gave the final authentic touch on stage and created a great ambiance.
At the high-school festivities took place in honor of Sister Maria, the founder of „Misioneras de la Caridad y la Prividencia“. A special dedicated mess took place by the regional bishop and some priests. For our children it was a very special mess because their „yo quiero ser…“-father Edwing lead through the mess and handed out the communion.
Both schools, elementary and high-school are run by nuns. In the society of Honduras, faith takes high precedence. It gives many people hope and stability, especially for children it is sometimes the only constant in their young lives.

Annual gathering of CEPUDO
The annual gathering CEPUDO, takes place thanks tot he great support of „Angels of Hope”. To this happening, different children‘s homes are invited what often means real excitement for children living in a less activated shelter.
“yo quiero ser…“ had a very successful day, we won four trophies. The boys left everybody chanceless on the pitch and scored first over the whole tournament, Jhonson won even an award for best player, Fernando won one for the best goal keeper and Kimberly knew how to impress the jury with her self-made costume.
The smallest ones had their blast at the park where they have been pampered with great food, fun games and happy music.

Chantal
Chantal Schumacher from Kriens Switzerland, currently studying movement pedagogic, is going to write in her diploma paper about the correlation of street children and the different aspects of movement. She needed therefore a case study to scrutinize the subject in a field study and chose us. Based on our given circumstances did she develop a project, worked it then through and documented it.
During eight weeks did she accompany our lives and thanks to the great project did the children have a lot of active fun with her. Her warmhearted personality and sunny disposition won everybody over, especially our smallest new arrivals found in her a very happy and kind person of reference.

Soccer tournament
Our boys have been invited from the church community to a soccer tournament. The excitement before the game was endless and our trainer José was utterly challenged to channel all this energy. His last-minute pep-talk did carry its fruits, the nerves got tamed and the true quality shined through. All three games have been won by our boys and they left many people speechless, they did surpass everybody’s expectations.

Scuntrada 2015
This year the foundation Kinderheim „yo quiero ser...“ did participe again at the Scuntrada in Savognin, Switzerland. Our stand offered homemade wood oven bread from Salouf, self-made jewelry from socially disadvantaged women and unique silver fingerings (from cutlery) by Tanja Bodiloni. All the silver fingerings have been single pieces what meant that each women found her very own piece of jewelry.
For us is this market always a great occasion to meet our local donators. We get to exchange the latest news from Honduras and have the chance to say personally thank your for their invaluable support.
